Dear 2016…

Dear 2016,

Where do I begin? You brought me through a whirlwind of a year. Through many hardships, trials, joys, and successes, somehow we made it to the end of another year.

As I reflect back on this year, I tend to focus on all the things that didn’t happen in 2016. Things I wanted to do but didn’t. Places I wanted to go but didn’t. Prayers I prayed that weren’t answered. But this isn’t the focus I should have.

There were so many amazing and joyous moments that DID happen in 2016. Events, people, and situations to focus on and thank God for putting those people and life events in my life. The good that happened in 2016 grew, pushed, and shaped me into a stronger person. As much as I resist change, at the end of the year, I can’t help but stop and thank God for way he is growing and shaping my life.

I believe running a business is one of the best things I’ve done and continue to do. I am so thankful for the people who have come into my life and pushed me towards this dream. It’s a constant joy to do what you love. At the end of each year I’m amazed by the past 365 days have flown by. There are many days I have NO IDEA what I’m doing. But that’s okay. Because It’s scary. It’s raw. And it’s real life.

This past year I’ve learned to be okay with change. I don’t know if I’ll ever be 100% comfortable with it, but who is anyway?? We don’t like it. We fear it, but we can’t stop it from coming. If we don’t adapt to the change, we get left behind. There are times it hurts to grow and anybody who tells you it doesn’t is lying. But sometimes change is good. Sometimes it’s everything you need to grow and keep going.

Cheers to change, love, hope, and dreams being closer than you think.

Happy New Year’s Eve!
